About Sportle

Sportle is a free daily guessing game about the world's most famous athletes. Every day there is a new mystery athlete; you have 10 guesses, and after each one coloured tiles show how close you are (sport, country, birth year, position, status and fame).

Games

• Daily Athlete: guess today's athlete in 10 tries, across all sports or in one sport (football, basketball, tennis, ice hockey, motorsport and more).
• Who Am I?: see the athlete's full profile and name them in 6 tries.
• Beat the Clock: solve as many random athletes as you can in 1, 3 or 5 minutes.
• Friends leagues: a private daily challenge with your own league table.

Where the data comes from

The athlete list and fame ranking are based on public Wikipedia page-view statistics (the Fame tile: median daily English Wikipedia views over the 60 days to 13 Oct 2026). Facts come from Wikidata and Wikipedia. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses and every photographer is credited on the photo credits page. No official logos or press-agency photos are used.
